As an attorney-agent, my role is to look out for my client’s best interests, protect their rights, and help them to maximize their earning potential as athletes and entertainers. I focus on helping individual sport performers, specifically triathletes and other endurance sport athletes.
Each sport requires specific knowledge of the rules and regulations of the particular sport’s governing body. Additionally, a strong business and legal background benefits me, as an agent, in navigating my way through the marketing, branding, and sponsorship process. I have found that my law degree and MBA in Sports Business have helped me tremendously in every facet of negotiating, drafting, and administering my clients’ agreements. My educational background and practice experience have also allowed me to successfully build my athletes’ brand images and protect their rights.
I enjoy representing athletes and educating other attorneys in the field of Sports Law. I have negotiated sponsorship agreements with large companies such as Fuel Belt, Beyond Fabrications, and Liberty Sport, the makers of Rec Specs. I have spoken to students and taught other attorneys about the many facets of Sports Law, including representing individual sports performers. Additionally, I have worked with some great athletes including Herb Spicer, a Half Ironman World Champion in his age group and Lucas McCollum, a minor league baseball player turned aspiring professional triathlete.
My aim to also share my knowledge of athlete representation with you through this page. Enjoy!
